The Razorback football team donned their shoulder pads in addition to their helmets on Wednesday afternoon and the Razorback coaching staff used the day as one for evaluation as Arkansas made it through day three of preseason practice.
“Well, we got the shoulder pads on today and that helped,” Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino said. “We got to do inside runs against each other and got to be physical. I thought our guys did a better job of passing with better tempo. We can evaluate with shoulder pads and helmets because we are basically going to do everything we would do with lower pads. We are getting great evaluation and we’ll watch more video tonight.”
While the temperature may not have been as hot on Wednesday, it was still a tough day in pads for the Razorbacks and that showed throughout the three-hour affair on the turf and grass practice fields.
“We are not executing as well as I would have liked but that has to do with fatigue and not being able to concentrate on every play,” Petrino said. “Some is just our timing. We need to keep our focus and concentration. Right now our defense is a step ahead of our offense.”
